Linking up with Lauren for…

This week….

① first things first… sadly, Mr.C did not get the first shift job he interviewed for last week. i’ve had my little pity party and am moving on. i know that someday we’ll be on the same shift and be able to see each other during the week, eat family meals, hangout, heck, maybe even go to bed at the same time! ah, a girl can dream.

② i’m so grateful for technology that lets me keep up with my friends and family even though we might be miles apart. totally skype’d with the lovely lady above this week – always a good time!

③ went out to dinner with coworkers at Lord Fletchers for Lobster Wednesday. delicious!

④ discovered a new band and fell in love. give ’em a listen here – you will not be disappointed!

⑤ wandered around Excelsior before hitting up Maynard’s for the Cities 97’s last Sun Soaker Thursday of year. enjoyed a cocktail and the music of Charlie Mars, Amos Lee (<amazing!), and Farewell Milwaukee.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

✌ xo, meg

  1. I’m sorry your husband didn’t get the shift you both wanted :( ..it’s always rough not having the same schedule as your spouse. Keep your head up though, the only permanent thing in life is change!

by the way, i LOVE the font of your header and the numbers in your post, would you mind sharing where you got them from?

    • thanks for the kind words. he’s the calm, go-with-the-flow one so it’s more about me not being a brat, dealing with impatience and focusing on the positives :)

i cannot remember the font for my header, sorry! i usually just go to free font sites – test out a bunch and then do screenshots or download the ones i like. same goes for the number on the image. if you’re talking about these numbers: ① ② ③ – I just googled “numbers in circles” or facebook symbols

  2. Sorry about the job news! I can only image how hard it is to work opposite schedules. I swear I’ve heard of The Paper Kites before, but I’m trying to figure out what song it was. Listening to them all now. Super good!

  3. Sorry to hear about the job news – but hoping that something else will come his way soon. I know all about being on ‘off’ schedules with my husband…it’s not fun!

    • Thanks Dawn :) Not it’s not fun – I imagine it’s a little nicer since the kids have at least one parent around, but still, not the best when it comes to gettin’ in that quality adult time. Can’t complain thought – his current company is great and he likes his job, if it was on first shift it’d be perfection ;)
