“Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy”
Alright, so we all know I love a good musical – Hair anyone? But after growing out my locks for the wedding, I am so over them! They’ve gotten to the point where they are just too long, I’m sick of dealing with them, and it’s just no fun anymore. My hair’s so thick it takes like half a day to air dry, no joke, so forget about blow drying, and as for styling – well lets say I’m hair-impaired style-wise. I love to wear it down but when I’m in a hurry I just toss it in a clip or a pony and go.
And with Hawaii only a week away I want something different, something easy, something that won’t weigh me down in water and the warm weather. I will definitely be cutting off some length, but how much, I’m not quite sure at the moment.
So, I’m asking for your help – send me links, opinions, and photos of your hair-spiration for me! I plan on taking the cut this Saturday morning, right before Mama and GMA are due to arrive for their visit.
To get you in the mood, here’s a look back at my hair over the past 4 years.
Fun fact: I have had long hair from like 2nd grade ’til high school graduation but before that I had short bob with bangs and looked like this…. “The Welch’s Grape Juice Girl”
Alright – moving on. Follow the images from left to right, and then on down the page. So first up it’s H.S. graduation, then either freshman or sophomore year of college, then definitely sophomore year (and this is why I never have bangs! awful!!), then junior year (jersey shore night woo!), then college graduation, and finally, wedding day.
A few notes:
I don’t want to color my hair. I like the natural color I’ve got.
My hair is semi-thick.
I have more of a round face so any style that compliments that is a plus!
My hair dries mostly straight, with a few waves. And if I do “do” anything to it, I usually straighten it, though it’s so time consuming (and bad for your hair) that I only do that on special occasions. As for curling my hair….I wish! Haha my hair does.not.curl. EVER! Honestly, my wedding hair was a miracle and true testament to the amazing stylings of Sherri (and a lot of help from gel, hairspray, and more hairspray).
The cut/style should be something I can “fix up” relatively easy/simple since I’m hairstyling-impaired…
Anyway, I’d love to see what you think my next “do” should be. I’m excited to get it cut and have something new for a change.
Thanks friends! – xo, “Me”
